RFP Description

Location: Mountain Home, Tennessee. OSMO1 Osmometer for James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Background: The James H. Quillen VAMC P&LMS needs to purchase a replacement for an Osmo 1 Single-Sample Micro Osmometer to be used for the measurement of osmolality in serum/urine, plasma, and other body fluids to support patient care and meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements. Osmolality testing is required for evaluation of electrolyte and water balance, toxic alcohol ingestion, and other critical clinical conditions. A dedicated micro osmometer is necessary to support current and projected testing volumes, reduce turnaround time, and improve accuracy and reliability of results. The current Osmometer used in the laboratory is outdated has reached its end-of-life, requiring replacement. There is an urgent need to secure a new, modern osmometer that meets current performance standards, improves reliability, and that will support the increase in workload. Scope: This procurement is intended for the purchase and the acquisition of a new osmometer which is critical for the James H. Quillen VAMC to maintain high quality laboratory operations and ensure the timely delivery of accurate clinical test results. Requirements: One (1) Advanced Instruments Osmo1 Single-Sample Micro-Osmometer This is Brand Name Procurement No substitutes will be accepted. No additional Optional Equipment, Accessories, or Service is required. Documentation: The contractor shall provide the complete set of Operator s Manuals, Technical/Service Manuals, and Manufacturer Recommended Maintenance Schedules and Procedures in hard copy and digital, if available.
